The start of the "Wait" part of the "Hurry Up and Wait" saying. We were able to finish up the laundry today. It is still so nice to have a Washer!
We left the Apartment around 11:00 am and started walking around to the different streets around our area. The objective was to find somewhere to eat for lunch that we hadn't eaten at up to this point. As we walked we noticed some of the buildings that we had driven by when we first arrived to Kiev. This City has some really cool architectural artifacts that date back to the early 1800's, and some even before then. One of which has a HUGE Wooden drop gate, reminds us of the ones on Shrek. It is massive and beautiful.
We found an outdoor Patio Restaurant that was amazing. There was a fountain in the center of the restaurant was approximately 25 feet in diameter and was probably 20 feet tall. One of the intriguing things about the fountain is that it had streams of water from the perimeter shooting towards the center. Almost everyone that walked up the fountain, put their finger over the stream of water trying to spray the center. Not sure if is a Custom for Good Luck or if it is just Monkey See, Monkey Do. Then some people would stick their hands in the stream of water to get their hands wet and then wash their faces...Really? This happened for both young and old alike. I asked Rachelle when we left if she was going to wash her face and she of course declined, I didn't do it either.
The food there was fantastic. We were in the shade with the cool breeze and it was a really nice atmosphere. After we ate, we walked around for a little longer taking in the sights, but conservative enough to know how to get back to the Apartment.
We came back from lunch and I worked on finalizing the Blogs from the past couple of days since we weren't able to send them. It has been great sharring this Jouney with each and everyone whom has taken the time to read them. I know they are sometimes lengthy, however this will help us remember things that we might have forgotten. Plus it is a GREAT WAY to keep Everyone "Up-to-Date" on our process through one outlet instead of trying to send out multiple emails and reminders.
We were able to Tango Jessica so we could see and talk to Andrew. It looks like he was having a BLAST, as always. He was crashing his Cousin Kinley's slumber party, however I didn't get the idea that any of the girls were complaining. We also Tango'd my parents to "Check-In" as they were still at church preparing for a function.
Rachelle made some Penne' Pasta with some Spegetti Sauce for Dinner and it was GOOD!!! Last night while flipping through the channels on the TV I found ESPN, of course it was voiced over, however I was able to catch up on some highlights of the first weekend of College Football.
From looking at the extended forcasts for the Oklahoma Area and then the Kiev Area, Highs mainly in the upper 60's to lower 70's with Low's in the 50's seems Ah So Nice!!!
We Hope Everyone Enjoys their Labor Day Holiday Tommorrow!!! Spend some time with friends and family!!!
